BBY 14: With the capture of both the Ord Trasi and Bilbringi shipyards, the Confederate Council orders the production of Lira Wessex’s improved Imperator II-class star destroyers. The acquisition of these yards eases Rothana’s workload considerably, freeing up slips to be used by Rothana Engineering’s R&D to develop new classes of warships. Additional news is received by the Confederate Council from Loronar, whose initial production lines of the new Strike-class cruiser have been completed, ready for delivery to the Confederacy’s navy.
After two years of a sustaining a lengthy siege campaign, the Confederacy launches a strategic invasion of Nubia, with plans to push additional incursions into the heart of the Corellian Sector should the Nubian invasion ultimately prove fruitful. Joint Republic and Corellian forces, led by Masters Nejaa Halcyon and Aayla Secura, successfully resist, and ultimately

Father and Son of the Suns Ep IV: The New Hope 1
0 BoA (0 BBY): Republic forces launch a daring strike against the Galactic Dominion, scoring a key victory against overwhelming odds with the recovery of the secret technical plans detailing the construction of an ultimate weapon, codenamed “Death Star.” Unfortunately, the agent responsible, codenamed “Targeter,” along with the accompanying droids R2-D2 and C-3PO, have been captured by Dominion forces, led by Darth Maul, the Dark Lord of the Sith.
Her plea of assistance is received by Senator’s aide Leia Skywalker on the counselor ship Tantive IV adjacent to Tatooine, whose is promptly ambushed by a Dominion star destroyer. While she escapes with the holographic recording aboard an escape pod, the Tantive IV is destroyed, and Stormtroopers are dispatched to the surface to capture her.
Unknown to Leia, her father, Master Anakin Skywalker, along with her brother, Luke, are en-route to Tatooine to seek out Anakin’s former master Obi-Wan Kenobi, rumored

Shootingstar chapter 1, part 3
Will stood outside of Colonel Hammond’s office, having donned full service dress, with Lieutenant Brown’s damage report in hand. He stifled a sigh as he waited for the clock to tick down for yet another face-to-face with his commanding officer. How many visits was it now? Ten? Eleven? The man was insufferable, with an ego that rivaled the size of the Federation itself. And like the vacuum of space, mostly devoid of anything noteworthy.
After what seemed to be an interstellar epoch, Will finally heard some rustling behind the thick oak door. He knocked once.
“Enter!” Colonel Hammond’s voice replied, muffled through the door. Will clasped the knob with a turn and swung the door open as he stepped in the office. He closed the door behind him, walking towards the Colonel’s desk. It, like the man behind it, was a gaudy display of selfish pride, adorned with frivolous awards, trophies, plaques from superior officers, holopictures of him posing with aforeme

Captains Jan Dodonna and Gilad Pellaeon, commanding the Victory-II-class Star Destroyers Repentance and Avenger with support lines, spearhead the plan by acting as bait, by jumping their ships into Dac’s orbital space, and well within the Confederacy’s defenses. They immediately focus their collective fire onto the Confederate ships under construction, taking care not to damage the yards themselves.
As Confederate warships pour in closer to Dodonna and Pellaeon’s fleet to try and stop them from destroying all of their fledgling vessels, a Republic fleet, designated Halberd, jumps in behind them. “You came in THAT thing?”: The Starcrawler was never intended for interstellar travel, let alone space flight. When making Space Transport Repair attempts, three rolls must be made, at a Very Difficult skill. If all three rolls are successful, nothing is required. If two out of three are successful, a random component must be replaced, at the GM’s discretion. If only one out of three attempts are successful, further damage is inflicted upon the ship, requiring a repair at twice the regular cost. If zero out of three attempts are successful, a vital component of the ship fails, requiring the crew (ala PCs) to seek it out, and reattempt the repair (at the GM’s discretion).

“What a piece of junk!”: On its best flights, the Starcrawler behaves like a drunken bantha, lurching its way across space. For every trip that the vessel makes (including a short jaunt on its repulsorlifts), roll the wild dice. On a 1-4, the Starcrawler flies as usual, with no mishaps. On a 5, an non-vital subsystem performs subpar (the life support system grows uncomfortably cold or hot, steam fills up the living quarters or the engineering section, the lighting dims or brightens uncomfortably), and the PCs must roll a moderate Willpower roll; a failure results in the PCs taking a -1D penalty to the Perception attribute and any related skills for the duration of the trip. On a 6, roll on the Starship Light Damage chart to determine the result.

Starcrawler
Residing on Transix Four, a fairly remote, lightly-settled pastoral world in the Outer Rim Territories, Willyr Owk prided himself as one of the few large starship components dealers in the sector. With a very extensive stock on hand, whether it was a Koensayr 812-R sublight engine fuel distributor or a CorelliSpace NB-3101 cryo-coolant regulator, there was a good chance that Willyr had what spacers needed. And if he didn’t, he knew what part could be used as a suitable substitute to get them by. That was, at least, until the Uuutideday Clan of Jawas made planetfall near his shop. While he was away on a business trip to Transix City Spaceport, they made off with over half of his stock, to include to some very difficult to acquire parts for some particularly older spacecraft that were still operating off-world.

Naturally, Willyr was pissed. Pissed beyond all reason and rationale. Pissed enough to embark on his own freighter (which he had ceased to use after he settled down on Transix Four for his “retirement”) to hunt them down. For three months, he had struggled to track down the wayward, starfaring Jawas from system to system, only to discover to his own shock and awe… they had built a hyperspace-capable ship of their own. From a sandcrawler. While not a particularly cruel being, Willyr wanted to teach the ingrates a lesson they wouldn’t forget. He devised a plan to ambush them once they made planetfall on a place that he knew, being Jawas, they couldn’t resist: Navol Prime, a long-abandoned factory turned junkyard planet.

Fortunately, of all of the losses that Willyr had incurred, the one lot that the Jawas hadn’t broken into (because they couldn’t read the language on the security door switch that spelled “open”) contained his entire astromech droid contingent of thirty. He armed all of them with stun blasters units and sent them out to board the starcrawler… while most of them napped.

Within the hour, all of the Jawas were out cold from the ensuring battle with Willyr’s astromech army. He carried each one out, laid them side by side along the floor of a giant droid production plant, and dropped off enough of their supplies for them to sustain them until they could figure where a good source of rations could be found… and left them behind. Aboard their starcrawler.

Miraculously (and after a huge misadventure in itself trying to operate the jury-rigged craft), Willyr made it back to Transix Four, nearly colliding with the control tower during the landing attempt, and paying a huge fine for a major lubrication spill upon landing. Yet… he wanted one last laugh on behalf of those Jawas. He spent the next four years rebuilding the vessel from the ground up, transforming it into a functional transport.

People regularly scoff and joke about Willyr’s project of temporary insanity when they visit his dealership and see the ungainly craft sitting on the pad out front. Until, of course, they witness it fly just as well as any other starship. Willyr, to this day, is unaware of the fate of those Jawas. But he swears that on one of his recent passes by Navol Prime, he witnessed a giant flying factory.

Star Wars Infinities: Father and Son of the Suns (part 7)

BBY 13: With the current ceasefire with the Confederacy established, Bail Organa uses one last evocation of the Emergency Powers Act to declare a galactic-wide effort, on behalf of the Republic, to focus on relief efforts to worlds affected by the Clone Wars. Chancellor Organa relieves all clone troopers of active service (unless they choose to remain in the Republic Army and Navy as instructors). He offers a transition program for those who seek to immediately leave military service to become civilians. Subsequently, Bail and the Ministry of War expand the Republic military’s recruiting services budgets, seeking more and more volunteers as opposed to the possibility of conscription.

Seeing the current pause in hostilities as an opportunity to streamline and modernize the Republic’s military forces, Admirals Yularen and Ackbar, along with Generals Tallon and Merrick propose to the Chancellor and the Senate Defense Committee a reorganization of the Army and Navy, along with the addition of a third branch that would become an independent Starfighter Corps. As opposed to the now vast and unwieldy regional commands that the Army’s troops fall into, responsibilities would be delegated down to the forces of Republic member sectors and its allies, improving overall mobility and flexibility. The Navy would be subdivided into numbered fleets, instead of the previously named fleets (such as Open Circle) with an established number of ships, transports, and fighters per fleet. Lastly, the newly established Starfighter Corps would operate not only on capital ships assigned squadrons, but also maintain multiple bases within each sector and installations that would serve as regional headquarters/major bases that would augment sector forces as needed. The Senate Defense Committee drafts up, and passes through, the legislation for the Republic Military Reorganization bill. Chancellor Organa ratifies it into law.

Presidente Shu Mai of the Commerce Guild, infuriated by the actions and proposals of Advisor Tarkin that seem to have negatively affected her interests, calls for his removal from the Confederate Council. As a central member of the Council, a vote is required to be taken regarding Tarkin. It, however, falls short by a seemingly considerable margin. Viceroy Nute Gunray implores to her that no more time should be afforded to political infighting, reminding her that the ceasefire is “temporary,” and that the Confederacy should focus on rebuilding its military strength and utilizing the resources of their worlds to the maximum extent possible. He also hints that the “Ultimate Weapon” project is far from dead. Shu Mai leaves the council chamber exasperated, dropping that the Commerce Guild may very well find “more lucrative partners” in the very near-future. She fails to appear in subsequent Council meetings, and her subordinates from the Commerce Guild report her as missing.

Anakin returns to Coruscant after three years of traveling across the galaxy, assisting scores of beings living on worlds ravaged by the Clone Wars. Jedi take note of the changes that have made their mark on the previously headstrong and reckless man they’ve known. Masters Yoda and Windu summon Anakin to the High Council chamber, of which Yoda confers the title of Jedi Master to him. “Earned it, you have,” Master Yoda remarks. “The road you’ve walked, easy it was not. Understand the Force, in its many forms, you have. Right to call yourself “Master,” you are ready.”

Concerned with the impact that the Clone Wars has had on the Order at large, the Jedi Council convenes with the Temple staff to determine casualties and both the short and long-term effects. From a count of nearly ten thousand Jedi accounted for around the time of the Battle of Naboo, the Order sustained the deaths of just over five thousand Knights, Masters, and Padawans; over half their number. Concerned with such staggering losses, Master Windu surmises that drastic change must occur in the way that the Force-sensitive beings are selected for training, if the Jedi Order is to survive another conflict with the Confederacy. More alarming is that some thirty Jedi have died in mysterious circumstances since the ceasefire was ratified. There is little doubt now that Darth Maul is continuing to work with the Confederacy to hunt Jedi that are dispatched throughout the galaxy. Jedi Master Kento Marek decides to create a taskforce to track Maul down and either bring him to justice, or barring that, extinguishing his threat altogether.

On distant Tatooine, Obi-Wan Kenobi has made a simple life for himself, after discovering the source of Qui-Gon Jinn’s transcendence into the speculated Cosmic Force. Content to live in isolation as he now seeks the source of Anakin’s near-fall to the Dark Side, he resides in the Jundland Wastes some distance from the Lars homestead. However, while listening to the minor communications traffic between the settlements, he hears a plea from a young woman, for someone, anyone, to help them. Obi-Wan travels as fast as he can to beleaguered settlement, only to find dozens of bodies… each one cut down with a lightsaber. Darth Maul reveals himself, double-bladed lightsaber ignited, seeking the only thing in the galaxy he desires most: revenge. A fierce duel ensues between the two, and in spite of Maul’s augmentations and further advancement in lightsaber combat, Obi-Wan manages to gain the upper hand… and severs the Sith’s right hand.

“I know what I’ve done over the years, Maul,” he explains. “I’ve accepted that and tried to move on and learn the reasons why. I’m offering you the chance to do the same. But if you insist on treading down your current path… I’m ending it. Leave this world, and never return.” Maul flees Tatooine, enraged. He cannot defeat Kenobi… at least for now. But one day, he will.

FreiTek T-68A E-Wing
With the destruction of Incom’s Fresia-based facilities, and the subsequent escape of most of Incom’s engineering team from Galactic Dominion capture, a new company took shape, firmly backing the Galactic Republic and its forces, naming itself FreiTek. Some three years into the Galactic Civil War, Sienar Systems Engineering began fielding its improved model of the TIE series, the TIE/Ac (Ace), in units across the Galactic Dominion. Its superior speed and maneuverability had a devastating effect on the Republic’s squadrons, in-particularly the aging Y-Wing and the venerable T-65A X-Wing.

The first starfighter designed and constructed by FreiTek, the T-68A E-Wing was the answer to the Republic’s woes. Faster, more durable and maneuverable, and with a more expanded anti-starfighter arsenal than the T-65A, the E-Wing first narrowed, and then surpassed the gap in capability that the TIE Ace had over Republic fighters in combat. Lessons learned from the E-Wing’s successes in the field would lead FreiTek to develop and improve existing designs in the Republic’s arsenal, culminating in the T-65C X-Wing Plus.

She probes further, asking, “How are you aware of such things, living on such a distant world, so far away from other beings?” The old man smiles, and answers: “I was a Jedi Knight, the same as your father. Years ago, I served with him during the Clone Wars, during some of the darkest of times. He was the best starpilot in the galaxy… and a cunning warrior. Anakin was a pupil of mine, before I left the Order in search of… a different calling; a journey to understand the nature of the Force.”

Leia asks, “Why did you leave? I’ve heard my father speak quite highly of you, looked up to you. It was rumored that you were dead.” Obi-Wan chuckles, commenting, “Well, I’m not dead. Well… not yet. Your father… needed a wiser master. He needed a teacher, not a brother. Someone who could give him the perspective that he needed, to foster the patience that being a Jedi required. I was not that Master. I trained him to the very best in my ability. With me, he learned how to use the Force. With Master Yoda, he knew when not to.”

“Speaking of your father, he is close…”
So as it turns out, I took Tophertron's (tophertron.deviantart.com) advice and decided to keep the momentum going on Father and Son of the Suns. So you're going to be able to see some more starships of the era (in particularly, around the Battle of Endor timeframe now that most of the ships for the Battle of Alderaan are completed). Unfortunately, Jason C'hng will be taking a hiatus from commissions to focus on some personal work of his own, so character artwork will be put on the back burner for a while.

While I'm working on the timeline, it dawned on me just exactly how much of the classic Rebellion era would've been altered, and as such, a lot of voids will need to be filled as the alternate timeline progresses. So I'd like to ask what sort of events would folks like to see? Any particular EU/Legends characters that you're curious about in this timeline? Or perhaps the unveiling of a story arc that impacts the setting overall or to a smaller degree?

As always, I aim to please and look forward to any suggestions and/or comments you may have.
