That’s her! Maya realized. The Crimson Killer!
Rumors flew over the past couple of weeks whether or not she would make her appearance in the battlefield, especially after the latest series of Federation offensives. Today… it was happening!
“Oh-one, oh-three!” Maya called over the secure net of her comm-channel to the Colonel. “It’s her! She’s here!”

What subsequently astonished the human race was the existence of life on extra-solar worlds, as was the case on Alpha Centauri V.  Alpha Centauri V (or Alpha V for short) is a very arid world with extreme heat temperatures, possessing as little as 10% liquid water, and as a result, much of the sparse life that exists has had to adapt to retain water, and they possess attributes not unlike lifeforms in Earth's desert regions. Entrei City, the largest city on Alpha Five, is built in a natural canyon to take advantage of the cooler temperatures, But in spite of the harsh climate, the gravitational influence of Alpha and Beta Centauri have drawn in considerable matter into the systems, resulting in significant and readily available mineral resources. At present, Alph Important Worlds of Shootingstar Part 3Twin Worlds of Feyinn: Rare phenomenon (the only one recorded in explored space) had enabled the formation of these planets of nearly identical mass to orbit each other while counterbalanced by the gravity well of their parent star. The Secession and the Federated Alliance of Stars:
Division in the faltering Terran Confederation over colonial rights reached a pinnacle in early 2631 when nearly eight hundred colony worlds formally seceded through the Charter of Secession. The fledgling democratic government of the Federated Alliance of Stars was formed the same day, along with the initially undermanned and poorly-equipped Federal Allied Defense Forces. The FADF would meet its greatest test a mere three days later as the newly-aligned League of Terran Worlds (or simply the Terran League) sent the Fourth Interstellar Taskforce to strike the FAS capital of Ceres.
Despite being outnumbered nearly 10 to 1, the FADF managed to defeat the League’s 4th Taskforce in a grueling ten month struggle for Ceres. Removing Terran forces from Ceres, the FAS member worlds concentrated their resources into a massive military build-up to the FADF, with priority given to the starship fleets to u Engagement (excerpt from Morningstar Chapter 2)He adjusted the pulse radar to long-range band with datalink to the Challenger. Immediately, all three targets appeared, highlighted in red as hostiles. His warning receiver didn't go off, meaning none of them had detected his flight yet; if they had, he probably would've had a lock-on warning by now. Will was now just over fifty thousand kilometers to the enemy fighters, still out of range for the Mark 43s by a significant distance. Nevertheless, he would be ready for them, and toggled one of the medium-range missiles in the primary weapons bay.
The distance gap proceeded to close; forty thousand klicks, thirty-five thousand, thirty thousand. William's attention was split between his radar, his weapons release on the stick, and listening for that ominous tone that no fighter pilot ever wanted to hear.
"Oh-two, you ready?" he asked over the comm.
"Hai. One Mark 43 ready and waiting."
