0 BoA (0 BBY): Republic forces launch a daring strike against the Galactic Dominion, scoring a key victory against overwhelming odds with the recovery of the secret technical plans detailing the construction of an ultimate weapon, codenamed “Death Star.” Unfortunately, the agent responsible, codenamed “Targeter,” along with the accompanying droids R2-D2 and C-3PO, have been captured by Dominion forces, led by Darth Maul, the Dark Lord of the Sith.
Her plea of assistance is received by Senator’s aide Leia Skywalker on the counselor ship Tantive IV adjacent to Tatooine, whose is promptly ambushed by a Dominion star destroyer. While she escapes with the holographic recording aboard an escape pod, the Tantive IV is destroyed, and Stormtroopers are dispatched to the surface to capture her.
Unknown to Leia, her father, Master Anakin Skywalker, along with her brother, Luke, are en-route to Tatooine to seek out Anakin’s former master Obi-Wan Kenobi, rumored to have gone into self-exile after a lengthy journey following the end of the Clone Wars. Wishing to avoid unnecessary attention in Dominion-controlled space, they employed a Republic special missions courier ship, the Horizon Evader, piloted by Commander Han Solo and First Mate Chewbacca, to do so.
Landing in docking bay 94 of Mos Eisley spaceport, they disembark on their quest to find Master Kenobi, and Anakin mentions a couple with a moisture farming settlement who may know where he could be found. An emotional meet-up between Anakin and Owen Lars ensues, and he pays his respects to his mother at her nearby gravesite. Owen’s wife Beru mentions that a “crazy old wizard” could be found living in a hut just beyond the Dune Sea.
Leia’s escape pod crash lands in the middle of the Dune Sea, where she faces the inhospitable environment of that region of Tatooine. She manages to reach the gorges of the Jutland Wastes and is accosted by the indigenous Sand People. Before she engages them, with lightsaber in hand, a shrieking voice emanates from the distance, which scares the Sand People away. A mysterious robed figure appears in the distance, just before Leia collapses from heat exhaustion….
